Life Purpose Consulting's Marin County office is located at Spirit House, a retreat house located in West Marin. Though the directions to Life Purpose Consulting and Spirit House are a bit long and detailed, getting to Spirit House is really quite easy. We provide this level of detail simply to make it easier for everyone to find their way here.
GENERAL NOTES
Life Purpose Consulting and Spirit House are approximately one hour from downtown San Francisco with no traffic. Add approximately 15 minutes to your drive during the evening rush hour, and more if you expect to encounter additional traffic on the freeways.
Please plan your travel accordingly. Dial '511' for helpful traffic information in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.
NOTE: Public transit (via ferry and/or bus) is also available from San Francisco and can (especially via ferry) offer a more relaxing and enjoyable experience than driving. If you would prefer this method of transportation, please contact me for additional information well prior to your trip to Spirit House.

You will pass through the town of Fairfax, eventually
traveling up and OVER a STEEP and WINDING HILL.
From the top of the hill, you will be taking the
SECOND LEFT TURN.
Drive past the first left, 'San Geronimo Valley Road' ~
approx. one mile from the top of the hill.
You will soon see the main sign and entrance to 'Spirit Rock
Meditation Center,' on your right. This sign is about
one-third to one-half mile before you...
[1] TURN LEFT onto RAILROAD Avenue.

Proceed through Woodacre, going through one (for you) no-stop
intersection, followed by three intersections with stop
signs.
At the third stop sign, you will see the entrance to the
Marin County Fire Department's Headquarters to your right.
Continue forward on Railroad Ave., bearing just *slightly* to
the left of the Fire Station entrance.
Proceed two more blocks, and...
[2] TURN LEFT onto PINE Street.

Proceed one short block, and...
[3] TURN LEFT onto FIRE Road.

You will immediately be heading up a very steep hill. Lower
gears are advised, driving both up and down the steep parts.
Continue carefully up and around this narrow road (15 mph
max, please), watching out especially for oncoming cars,
wildlife (deer and/or rabbits), dogs and children.
The road will eventually become gravel. Continue carefully
along to the end of the gravel road, to the very top, where
you will find...

PARKING AT SPIRIT HOUSE

You may park:
(1) Outside Spirit House's gate, along the hedge to the right;
(2) In front of the goat run to the left of Spirit House's gate;
~ OR ~
(3) Inside Spirit House's main gate, to the right only ~
not in or near the carport, please.
Please, be careful not to block:
(a) the fire road gate just to the left of the goat run,
(b) the turn-around areas either just inside or just outside
Spirit House's gate;
(c) other parked cars, or
(d) the road itself.

WALKING TO THE LIFE PURPOSE CONSULTING OFFICE

Once you park,
(1) Walk down the main steps toward the main house.
(2) Turn right at the bottom of the steps (do not enter the house).
(3) Turn left at the path that heads toward the oak trees.
Follow the path and deck as they wind toward and past the
large circular yurt. Take the steps at the far end of the
yurt, and knock on the door to the small yurt in front of you.

PHONE ACCESS

AT&T Wireless does NOT work between Fairfax and the top of the hill (above, in directions), but DOES work once you are over the hill, as well as throughout Woodacre and at Spirit House.
Most other cellular phones work between Fairfax and the top of the hill, and have spotty to no reception in Woodacre and at Spirit House. Ask us for best locations if you wish to use your non-AT&T wireless phone.
Spirit House also has a land line with unlimited long distance. Feel free to use it while you are here for all but international calls.
LOST WITH NO PHONE ACCESS?
If you are lost and do not have a working wireless phone with you, there is a deli in Woodacre, open from 7AM - either 8 or 9PM. It is on San Geronimo Road, the first (no-stop) street you drive past once turning left into Woodacre. They will let you borrow their phone if you ask them nicely.
The other option is to drive back towards or into Fairfax, to try and get better reception. If it is late at night and you do not have mobile phone access, go to 142 Bolinas Ave. in Fairfax (from Woodacre: Back to Fairfax, then right at Light just past Fairfax Gas, then immediate left, then immediate right, go four blocks to Fairfax Town Hall and Police Station). There is a pay phone there.
